Webmaster
The NUBiLaGA Webmaster shall have the following roles and responsibilities:
1. Shall be responsible for designing, maintaining, and updating all web materials.
2. Shall keep web files well-maintained and well-organized.
a. Obscure file naming is prohibited, unless it is relative to html coding. (ex: index.html or index.php is not considered obscure, however an image of a cake named blah.jpg is and should be named something descriptive like chocolatecake.jpg).
b. The gallery, resources, and newsletter must remain password protected. Username and passwords may be given to members either via e-mail or during general body meetings.
i. Automated signup is prohibited in order to keep the safespace secure. All username and passwords, and the person behind the username and password must be approved by the webmaster.
c. Treat the web files as though they represent the history of NUBiLaGA. Files are not to be deleted unless there are duplicates or different file types of the same item.
d. Take care in altering the names or locations of the following file and folder names and do so only if the website will be reconstructed:
i. Folders: images, website dev files
ii. Files: about.html, calendarnubilaga.html, calendarother.html, eboard.html, gallery.html, index.html, links.html, gallery.php, newsletter.php, resources.php
3. Use a proper program for editing code. Notepad is prohibited. Reccomendation is notepad++, dreamweaver, etc. See NUBiLagA 2008 webmaster binder for recommendations of other programs.
4. Webmaster is responsible for maintaining the nubilaga@gmail.com account. The contact list must stay organized and updated. Any delivery failures due to outdated e-mail address must be updated to the actual e-mail list or be deleted. Requests of removal from the e-mail lists must be adhered to.
5. Gmail calendars: Both NUBiLaGA and newsletter calendar under separate links must be posted on website. It is the webmaster's responsibility to maintain the NUBiLaGA calendar, and the Director of Advocacy and Activism's responsibility to maintain the newsletter calendar.
6. The website must be backed up by at two different locations in case of any server failure or overhaul by Northeastern University. One of which will be a USB flashdrive provided by the NUBiLaGA resource center. The other will be the webmaster's personal hard drive, personal USB flashdrive, or external hard drive.
7. Shall collaborate with other E-Board members to include relevant content on website.
a. Shall collaborate with Director of PR to include advertisements on website.
b. Shall collaborate with DEAA to include Newsletter on SafeSpace portion of website.
c. Shall collaborate with Co-Chairs to include other news and events.
8. Must be present at all weekly E-Board meetings.
9. Shall have all the rights and responsibilities of an E-Board member.
10. Shall perform additional duties assigned by Co-Chairs.
